European Saints after WWII
January 6th, 2010 by admin
During the period of mormon history after World War II, Ezra Taft Benson was called by the First Presidency to travel to Europe, reestablish the European missions, and assess the physical and spiritual needs of the Saints there. This is a period of mormon history full of trials, sorrow, and hope, while for the rest of the world it seemed to be one of despair. The Saints were faithful, baptisms were up, and though they suffered from poverty, war-torn countries, lack of food, and death, they remained true to the gospel. Elder Benson did all he could to get welfare supplies to the Saints to help them get back on their feet.
