Shelves can be rather boring things, normally flat and uninteresting. I suppose they have to be flat, otherwise there is not much you can put on them. So they do not really contribute to decor, do they?
Perhaps not directly, but shelving brackets can, and so can some shelf stands with decorative moldings and artistic touches. Often, shelf brackets are hidden from view under the shelf, but they do not have to be. They should be viewed as an opportunity to add something attractive to your home decor.
