Inexpensive Alternative

Due to the fact that strand bamboo is put together with a thick adhesive device to make really large planks does this mean that it would be an inexpensive alternative to the smaller boards? I have been pricing out the different forms of bamboo flooring and I thought initially that the term strand bamboo flooring meant that it was small planks running together. Come to find out it is just because they use semi shredded bamboo with a really durable adhesive substance creating a rather large plank. What is the percentage of bamboo to the product? Does is cost relatively less than other bamboo flooring?
