What Do I Need to Do in Order to Consolidate Credit Card Debt?

I am trying to find out what I need to do in order to consolidate credit card debt. This would really help me to catch up on all my bills and pay off the money that I owe. I just need to make sure that I find the best company to use for this, and that they give me a low enough interest rate to make it worth while. Do they charge a fee for this service? I am hoping that they don’t, otherwise I might have to rethink the whole idea because I am trying to avoid spending any additional money.
